Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a rare genetic disease characterized by progressive muscular dystrophy. Immobilization, the pathophysiology of the disease and treatment with glucocorticoids predispose to poor bone health, leading to an increased risk of fracture in these patients.
